A cat-free day?

Posted September 9, 2009

The folks at Urlesque have proclaimed today, 9/9/09, to be "A Day Without Cats on the Internet."  They're tired of the proliferation of cat pictures and videos on the Web, and they're abstaining from posting any cat-related content today.

So, if you're tired of LOLcats and "I Can Has Cheezburger?" (insipid!), take heart -- your fellow cat-media haters are organized and asking for your solidarity.

But if you can't get enough purring pixels, here's a new cat site for you to enjoy: Dreaming of Kittens, a site that collects pictures of sleeping kittens.

My 10 year old sweet, loving, female yellow/white tabby moved on to cat heaven a few weeks ago....due to kidney disease...I miss her presence even including, clawing, making a mess with the kitty litter, and waking me up from my cat naps....I HAVE been having cat free days...bring on the cat videos Brian, thanks.

A day without cats is like a day without having to get up at 5:15 a.m. and be tripped going to wait on them, only to have them be sound asleep before you leave for work!

I am shocked, shocked I say, at the very thought of an internet without cats. What is this world coming to? Write your congressman.

I don't think it will work. Cat's suggested the internet to Al Gore as a way of getting more publicity for themselves. They will never stand for this.
