I have a weakness for slapstick.

You will see some marital fights for sure at the boat ramps.

Boat ramps can provide serious teaching opportunities of How-Not-To-Do-It for boat operation. You'll see 2 types of folks there: 1- smart, co-ordinated efforts with almost no talk, and an in-out time of less than 2 minutes AND 2- dumb, disjointed effects with accompanying yelling, hand-waving, cursing, bad direction, bad trailer backing, boat-scratching, and who knows what else! It's a real show! Youtube.com has dozens of the latter as examples of how NOT to launch or retrieve your boat! Watch and learn new boaters!

oops.

Most interesting boat launch I ever saw was at a small lake ... guy unstrapped everything and released the winch and just backed up fast and slammed on his brakes and the boat flew off the trailer into the water. Unfortunately for his friend, the dude took off from the dock with the same enthusiasm, but this friend had only one foot in the boat at the time and he flipped off the dock into the water. Both events were like something out of a movie (no camera at the time, too bad) ... luckily no one was hurt.
