Walking the dog

Posted June 9, 2009

When it's not too hot, I usually take Tracker, the WRAL newsroom dog, with me on my morning walks.

Some days, I'm too busy.  I'm out on a story or working on a project.  For those days, maybe we could find somebody else to walk Tracker.

Lighten up yourrap. I think it's sort of cute and I am not a dog person at all. You got to have some of the lighter sort of stories to balance all those hard news stories about problems we are facing now. Otherwise this website would be very depressing and that we do not want to see. I enjoy watching the birds and squirrels in our back yard cause they care not for politics, economics, and such human worries. And there isn't much I can do about things like that anyway except worry and at my age that an't good for me. Relax, enjoy the critters some.

Wow cant we get a real story on here about something else beside walking a dog? Blog about the unemployment rate or the crime in NC. I dont care about that dog, nor any of the other off topic blogs you create.

    Hello Tracker,

I've been enjoying your 'blogs' from way down here in Jacksonville, Florida and telling everyone within earshot ,too. As a teenager I watched your station (WRAL) and with this cool gadget (ummm the computer and the internet) I can now "catch up" with things in NC. Please tell your friends at the station to continue to allow/help you write these 'blogs' and often. Oh and you might 'hint-hint' at allowing you to go on adventures within the city and write about them also. That is after you learn the station and such ;) .... that would be really cool!!!
Well keep up the great job Tracker (I'm glad you like your name too).....and I'll be 'tracking' your mini adventures with your blogs!!!
    lol :)

Just be sure to keep it to 1 dog at the office. Years ago I worked for a company who began letting employees' bring their beloved dog to work. We had large expanded windows from floor to ceiling and a wooded area surrounding the building. After a short while, it seemed that everyone (with a dog) was outside "walking the dog". It was more popular than the old cigarette break excuse! Also, accidents were happening inside on the carpet. It was of great relief to me (not a dog person, sorry), when this policy of bring the dog to work was cancelled.
