Tweeting Traffic

Published: 2009-03-13 09:13:00

I've had a personal Twitter account for a while now, but I never put anything work-related on there.  I use it to make observations and comments about the silly detritus of life.

Well, I think we've found a way for Twitter to improve your life.  Now, that's a claim!

I've created a WRAL Traffic feed on Twitter.  I'll Tweet with updates about major traffic problems during the morning commute.

I'm not going to abuse this.   I'm not going to send you information every 5 minutes about every accident in our viewing area, but if a major route is delayed or blocked, I'll Tweet about it.   For instance, we had a very busy morning today, and I sent only three Tweets.  I think most mornings will rate only one or two.  I won't become annoying.

You can also use it to Tweet about accidents or delays you see on your commute.  When you're stopped in traffic, let me know, and I'll get out the word.

So, follow my traffic updates on Twitter -- and improve your life.  Your results may vary.
