Possible 'Idol' Wild Card spoiler

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill grad student Anoop Desai is rumored to be appearing on Thursday's "wild card" episode of "American Idol.”

Spoiler sites have photos of fellow N.C. native Ricky Braddy and piano player Matt Giraud leaving a movie with Top 12 contestants Alexis Grace and Kris Allen. Looks like the three guys are in Hollywood for some reason…..

Desai, 22, was eliminated several weeks ago despite impressing the judges in previous rounds. The judges will select three “wild card” contestants to move forward.

If Desai can win a “wild card” slot, he would follow in the foot steps of another Triangle native – Clay Aiken, who won a slot on the show through the “wild card” round several years ago. Aiken went on to be the runner-up to winner Ruben Studdard.

As with previous rounds, Anoop's friends are holding a watch party at Players in Chapel Hill to cheer him on.
