The Academy Awards are Sunday and to get prepared for one of Hollywood's biggest nights, WRAL is sifting through Oscar history to bring you trivia questions all week. To find out the answers tune in to WRAL News each morning this week.
Today's trivia question:
This actress holds the record for the most Academy Awards for "Best Actress."
Answer: Katharine Hepburn with four. She won in 1932, 1967, 1968 and 1981.
Thursday's question: This individual has won the most Academy Awards.
Answer: Walt Disney. He has won 26 Oscars, including Best Short Subject for Cartoons for "Mickey Mouse" (1932) and "The Three Little Pigs" (1934). Disney also holds the record for the most Academy Award nominations at 59.
Wednesday's question: You've seen many actors win the golden statue, but do you know what the Oscar represents?
Answer: The Oscar statuette depicts a knight holding a crusader's sword, standing on a reel of film with five spokes. The spokes signify the original branches of the Academy: actors, writers, directors, producers and technicians.
