Financial crisis soundtrack

Posted February 12, 2009

I downloaded the new Microsoft SongSmith software yesterday.  You sing a melody into it, and it spits out a chord arrangement.  It's pretty impressive, and as a songwriter, I think it has some usefulness as a "intelligent notepad."  If you know nothing about writing songs, I think you'd have a lot of fun with it.

Well, a guy took graphs of the the major stock indices, and changed the points into notes.  He fed them into SongSmith and it spit out a song.

Here's the story from the BBC, with a link to the music.
