Favorite romantic restaurant

Valentine's Day is a special time around my house. It's my birthday, my brother's birthday (He was born 10 years before me) and my new friend Brian Shrader's birthday. It also falls days after my husband's birthday.

With this being my first Valentine's Day in Raleigh, I decided to ask everyone what their favorite romantic restaurant is. Also which place has the best dessert? I am a fan of chocolate.

The Hayes Barton Pharmacy in Five Points. It's a cozy, unique little restaurant with Raleigh's BEST desserts!!

I prefer any Japanese Steak house such as the Kanki....it's not very cozy but lot's of fun and the food is amazing!!!!

I love Bonefish Grill. It's pretty romantic and the chocolate creme brulee' is fabulous!! Cafe Tiramisu is also a favorite - VERY good italian!

Ya'll may think I'm crazy, but there's something about the Angus Barn that is very romantic to me, especially around the fireplace!

"The Hayes Barton Pharmacy in Five Points."

Uh, that would be Hayes Barton GRILL, not the pharmacy, although the grill is next-door to the pharmacy.

Rey's in Cary across from Crossroads Ford. Voted the most romantic in Raleigh. They have a banana's foster they prepare right at your table and the food is excellent. You may not be able to get a reservation this late though.

Simpson's is by far the most romantic. Simpson's is where my wife and I celebrate our special days. As mich as Van Eure would hate to hear this, I have been to the Angus Barn on several occasions, and frankly, it cannot compare with Simpson's.

Bistro 64 in MacGregor Village in Cary. It's quiet and cozy, so you can actually talk to your significant other without having to yell (imagine that!!) Plus the food is incredible!

Sidekick, banannas foster is one of my favorite desserts! I will have to check Rey's out on a night that isn't Valentine's Day so we can get a table.

Midtown restaurant at North Hills. Cozy and usually not hard to find a table. Good food and a nice wine list ($30-$65) with decent prices ($19-30).
