Favorite romantic restaurant

Valentine's Day is a special time around my house. It's my birthday, my brother's birthday (He was born 10 years before me) and my new friend Brian Shrader's birthday. It also falls days after my husband's birthday.

With this being my first Valentine's Day in Raleigh, I decided to ask everyone what their favorite romantic restaurant is. Also which place has the best dessert? I am a fan of chocolate.

Second Empire and their chocolate souffle!

Taverna Agora off Glenwood in Raleigh. Fabulous, authentic Greek restaurant with great food and romantic atmosphere. One of my favorites in the entire Triangle.

LA RESIDENCE in Chapel Hill continnues to be THE place for a fomantic, tasty, high class evening for 2 or two hundred. It is our favorite wedding events venue and we have done hundreds of wedding events in the Triangle since 1979. Not just great food, not just great ambiance, but an unmatched professuional staff determined to make the day something special for you....

Mo's Diner on Moore Square is the most romantic restaurant in Raleigh, hands down. The food and service is superb! Alas, they are solidly booked for Valentines, and have been for 3 weeks. :(

rey's in cary...awesome...the worst in my opinion is actually the umstead...

Peddlers Steakhouse off Glenwood is the best place. We always leave there and go by cheesecake factory for dessert. Strawberry shortcake is the best i think but they have excellent chocolate cakes and cheescakes also.

Midtown restaurant at North Hills. Cozy and usually not hard to find a table. Good food and a nice wine list ($30-$65) with decent prices ($19-30).

Sidekick, banannas foster is one of my favorite desserts! I will have to check Rey's out on a night that isn't Valentine's Day so we can get a table.

Bistro 64 in MacGregor Village in Cary. It's quiet and cozy, so you can actually talk to your significant other without having to yell (imagine that!!) Plus the food is incredible!

Simpson's is by far the most romantic. Simpson's is where my wife and I celebrate our special days. As mich as Van Eure would hate to hear this, I have been to the Angus Barn on several occasions, and frankly, it cannot compare with Simpson's.
