Site SearchEarlier this month, UNC grad student Anoop Desai successfully made it to the Hollywood round.
Idol spoiler site Vote for the Worst reported Friday that Desai survived the Hollywood round and was selected as one of the top 36 contestants. Those contestants will be divided up and sing each week for America’s votes. The top two vote-getters from each group plus a judges’ “wild card” contestant will move forward to the next round.
Desai is/was a member of the a capella group, the Clef Hangers. The group has a ton of stuff on YouTube.
Fans will be gathering at Players on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill on Wednesday night to watch the show and cheer Desai on.
