This was a wacky week, "American Idol" returned and "CSI" star William Petersen left. Here's your top five for the week:

5. Ricardo Montalban, best known for his role on "Fantasy Island," passed away Wednesday at his home. He was 88.

4. Another North Carolinian will compete on "Survivor." Sydney Wheeler, 24, grew up in Raleigh. She moved to the west coast to pursue a modeling and interior design career. Now she is on the new season of "Survivor," which starts Feb. 12.
