Sydney Wheeler raleigh native survivor contestant

Another N.C. contestant competes on 'Survivor'

Another “Survivor” contestant this season has North Carolina roots.

Sydney Wheeler, 24, grew up in Raleigh. She moved to the west coast to pursue a modeling and interior design career, according her bio on the CBS Web site.

Wheeler said she is not afraid to use her looks to get further in the competition. She added that she plans to use her personality and brains to charm people.

"People stereotype me as just a pretty face. Don't misjudge me, I'm going win,” Wheeler states on her bio.

She currently reside in San Diego, Calif.

Last season, UNC graduate and Durham resident Crystal Cox competed on "Survivor: Gabon."

The new season of  "Survivor" starts Thursday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m.

Hopefully she will behave in a manner that will project a more positive image than Crystal Cox from Durham did last season. She didn't set much of an example as an Olympic champion, that's for sure.

Can't wait for Feb. 12th!

Personality, brains, pretty face and.....don't forget 'modesty.'

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I wouldn't say she's beautiful, just ordinary.
