North Carolina's own "American Idol" winner might be losing her Charlotte home.
According to court documents obtained by the AP, one of Barrino’s houses in Charlotte is up for auction by a company that said Barrino failed to repay money it loaned her to cover her taxes in 2006.
The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office is scheduled to sell the home, valued at $1.1 million, in January. The home isn't in foreclosure, but rather is being used to compensate the company that loaned Barrino money to cover taxes.
Fantasia bought the 6,232-square-foot, pond-front mansion with 6 bedrooms in March 2007.
But not to fear: The winner of the Idol's third season won't be homeless.
Financial records for her other Charlotte home on Seton House Lane are in fine shape.
Fantasia bought that home for $740,000 in July 2004.

Apparently the home is being auctioned to repay a 68,000 loan that she took out to pay taxes on the house. When sued, she never showed up in court, and since she has more than one home, this one is being seized and auctioned to satisfy the judgment.
Her mortgage lender was not party to the suit against her, nor has it moved for foreclosure based on failure to make mortgage payments.
