Cute (?) echidnas

What in the world is an echidna?

They also are known as spiny anteaters.  Echidnas are from the same order as the platypus.

Echidna babies are considered to be some of the cutest – or ugliest – in the animal world.   Take a look for yourself.

Dude, they are adorable!! I never knew they existed! How awesome!

Every creature on this planet is beautiful in its own unique way.........even coworkers.

Awww they are cute!

Funny thing though...they are named after Echidna who in Greek mythology was the mother of all monsters. She gave birth to Cerberus (the three headed dog that guarded the underworld) as well as the Sphinx, Chimera, Hydra and other famous monsters of mythology.

Funny that something so cute has the mother of all monsters for a namesake.
