Weekend Music Picks

This weekend is THE weekend for fans of progressive rock music in the triangle.  Friday evening at Local 506 the ProgDay "PreShow" features Speechless and Kinetic Element.

If you have more indie rock leanings, Cat's Cradle hosts the second Cy Rawls benefit, with Superchunk, The Rosebuds, and Birds of Avalon.

Saturday and Sunday's ProgDay Music Festival lineup is: VonFrickle, Holding Pattern, Abigail's Ghost, Ain Soph, Cheer Accident, Pinnacle, Canvas Solaris, Mirthrandir, and Secret Oyster.

Saturday, Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary features Carolina Hopefest for AIDS in Africa, with Colbie Caillat, Edwin McCain (no relation to John as far as I know), and others.

Last, but not least, Saturday you can also catch American Aquarium, New Familiars, and Buzzround at Lincoln Theatre.

Drive safely and don't forget your earplugs kids!
