As part of its partnership with Norwegian Cruise Lines, which put Wiis aboard all of the company's ships last year, Nintendo is giving gamers a chance to cruise with a Wii. Through the end of February, gamers can sign up for free for a chance to win one of three seven-day cruises for two aboard any Norwegian ship. This contest (www.nintendo.com/sweepstakes/EndlessOcean_Sweeps.jsp) celebrates the launch of the newest mass market title for Wii, Endless Ocean, which retails for just $30.
As millions of new gamers have been hooked on Wii, Nintendo has continued to bring innovative new titles that appeal to a wide age range. Endless Ocean is a relaxing, non-violent underwater adventure that allows players to scuba dive along coral reefs and explore sunken shipwrecks with their Wii Remotes. There's even two-player online support for a friend to swim alongside you. The controls are easy to navigate and the game's open world allows anyone to jump in and take a dive for any amount of time.
Ultimately, three winners, picked at random in March, will have the chance to play this game on a real cruise ship. I was able to experience Wii on a Norwegian ship last fall up to Nova Scotia and the way this game system has been integrated into the daily itinerary is really innovative. Watching the senior citizens get into this game was also interesting. Now you can have a chance to explore the real seas and the virtual aboard a Norwegian ship, which is currently my favorite thanks to its Freestyle Dining and relaxed atmosphere. (I prefer Norwegian over Royal Caribbean, which is a close second. And please stay away from Costa Cruise Line, because I had a nightmare experience on that ship.)
