"Lost" Game Secrets Revealed

New York City--With the abbreviated fourth season of "Lost" debuting January 31 on ABC, videogame publisher Ubisoft showed off the first level of its Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC videogame, Lost: Via Domas, at the Shoreham Hotel in Manhattan.

During a one-on-one Xbox 360 walkthrough with the game's writer, Kevin Shortt, it was revealed that the game will introduce a new character, who's suffering from amnesia, to the island who was aboard Oceanic Flight 815. The game's story, which will unfold in episodes like the TV show and utilize interactive flashbacks, will cover the first three seasons of the show's mythology.

"We worked from the actual blueprints of the set, so players will be able to not only explore landmarks from the show but also solve new mysteries like what lies behind that magnetic wall in the hatch," Shortt told SciFiWire.

The game, which ships February 26, features the likenesses of every member of the show's cast. Ubisoft worked with actors Emilie de Ravin (Claire Littleton), Yunjin Kim (Sun Kwon), Harrold Perrineau (Michael Dawson), Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond Hume), and Michael Emerson (Ben Linus) to provide original dialogue for the show. The rest of the characters feature accurate sounding voice-alikes.

Shortt worked with series writer Dawn Kelly and producers JJ Abrams, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof on the project. Shortt said all three producers are avid gamers and were open to expanding the mythology of the series to take advantage of the interactive nature of the medium.

Players will actually be placed aboard Oceanic Flight 815 before take-off in one of the many interactive flashbacks. Composer Michael Giacchino, who got his Hollywood break after Abrams heard his score in a videogame, scored the game's music to replicate the feel of the show.
