Celebrating American Indian Heritage

Posted November 14, 2007

There is plenty to do in downtown Raleigh this Saturday!

First, you can check out the 2007 WRAL-TV Raleigh Christmas Parade at 9:30 a.m.  (More details here.)  Then, head toward the N.C. Museum of History at the corner of Wilmington and Edenton streets.  The museum is having its 12th Annual American Indian Heritage Celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Emily Grant, who coordinates youth programs at the museum, says there will be plenty of music, dancing, storytelling and other hands-on activities in the museum and outside on Bicentennial Plaza and the State Capital Grounds.  She also says it's a great place to do some early Christmas shopping -- plenty of crafts will be on sale.

Click here for a video with Emily, explaining the event and showing some of the crafts that will be on display.

So, will they allow the drinking of "fire water" outside on the street?
