"Transformers" Invade Homes

With Paramount and DreamWorks Pictures action movie, "Transformers," now in theaters, Activision has unleashed videogames across all platforms based on the new movie. The game features the voices and likenesses of the two main stars, Shia LeBouf and Megan Fox. In addition, the game makers, who were on the set with Michael Bay during the production, have added a whole slew of unlockable items. Players can find the original "Transformers" in the game, as well as exclusive new robots not seen in the movie. The games offer players the chance to choose a side and then wreak havoc on the interactive world. For anyone who's played with the toys growing up, this is the first 3D game based on the license and the first game that allows you to do everything you'd want to do in a "Transformers" game. I spoke with Shia a few weeks back and he's a big gamer, which is why he signed on for the movie. He has had a blast blowing things up in the game. And it's likely you'll have fun doing the same.

For the younger "Tranformers" fans, there are also some new products at retail from Kiddesigns. The "Transformers Head of the Class Activity Center" and the "Transformers Trans-Portable Activity Center" make learning fun for kids 5 and up and 3 and up, respectively. These products offer games and activities featuring "Transformers" voices that make learning fun. The hulking "Head of the Class" set, which sells for $70, features eight learning zones and 48 activities that teach everything from math to Spanish. It transforms and folds out for voice-activated fun. The "Trans-Portable" set, which sells for $30, is a smaller, fold-out center with six learning zones and 36 activities. Both sets feature sound effects and voices from the new movie.

And aside from the games and activity centers, Hasbro has unleashed new toys based on the movie, which will allow fans to dream up their own adventures after seeing the film.
