Posted June 22, 2007

The description of this video says only that it was shot during a fishing trip in South America.  Does anyone know what kind of fish these are?!

You see these all the time at the movies. They call them 'Orville Redenbachers'.

Brian, you shouldn't call them crazy. They might be mentally challenged or some other term for nuts.

actually, they more closely resemble alwife or a type of shad, which are known to jump when persued by predatory fish. It was funny nevertheless. There was something chasing them, and it could have been huge. This had the making of a good horror movie.

    Very interesting. Thanks, Steve.

Those are most likely Asian Carp. You don't have to travel far to see even bigger fish jumping (and attacking you)... The carp are non-native to most of the world and are extremely predatory and aggressive.

On another website for that video they call the fish "el carite" but in Australia they do that with Mullet, at least some say they do.
