Dialects Elsewhere

Posted April 25, 2007

If you're new to North Carolina (welcome!), you probably think we all sound the same.

Ah!  But the trained ear knows a Boone accent from a Johnston County accent.  We've got many different dialects within the state.

It's the same in the United Kingdom, and a great Web site lets you hear the different accents and dialects from our English cousins.

Enjoy!  You'll never watch "Are You Being Served?" or "EastEnders" the same way again.
