Nintendo Wii Continues to Wow

So just how popular is Nintendo's Wii? According to Merrill Lynch analyst Yoshiyuki Kinoshita, by 2011 30 percent of North American households should own one of the new motion-sensor devices. In Japan, he believes 33 percent of homes will have a Wii. That's good news to Nintendo. It also shows that the Wii is not a fad.

According to The NPD Group, Wii outsold PlayStation 3 in January 436,000 to 244,000. In Japan, Wii outsold PS3 400,000 to 150,000. Yes, the $600 price point of PS3 is a factor (Sony has all but stopped shipping the $500 units), but Wii is also selling because of strong word-of-mouth. People who experience Wii, often at friends' homes, go out and buy one for themselves. I've had it happen at my house. And I've talked to friends who have had the same experience.

While PS3 owners are still waiting for some must-have games (outside of Resistance: Fall of Man, there's not much out there now), Wii has a ton of great games for the whole family to enjoy. In fact, the pack-in game, Wii Sports, is enough to keep a party going for hours on end. It's funny that a few years back everyone was predicting the fall of Nintendo, and yet the company has come out with something that's revolutionary - - motion-controlled games that replace high-definition visuals with fun and addictive gameplay that anyone can enjoy. And I do mean anyone. More wives and girlfriends are getting hooked on Wii games, even more hardcore games like Legend of Zelda, then I've ever heard about on any other game console. And that's a good thing.

Managed to get one myself, Dragonball wasn't that hard when you remember moving the remotes helps. 55% of the 60 hour storyline complete before the Wii locked up. Customer service was very quick to send a new one. Still would reccomend it.

llarium5688-I got one at EB Games Crabtree. They have regular shipments that come in between 1-3 several times a week. Just call the store and ask if they have had any recent shipments of the Wii. If the answer is no, then go to the store around 12:30 and sit at the table that faces the store with a paper and coffee. Keep on the lookout for a UPS guy around 1:30. Then go into the store and go to the register. When they unpack it you will be first in line. It was really easy, I got one last week for my son's birthday. Took me about 1 1/2 hours hanging around , no problem. Good Luck...........

I am an avid gamer and I was fortunate enough to get one when it first came out (preordered mine...I hate waiting in lines) and I have loved it ever sense!! Everyone who plays it just enjoys every minute of it. My 7 year old daughter actually beat me her first time playing Wii Bowling (so, this tells you how easy it is to play). This is, by far, the hardest system to find on the market. I have heard that you can try Sam's Club (they have bundle packs). Costco and BJ's may have them, too. Good luck in trying to get one and if you do, don't sell it...keep it and enjoy it for yourself!!! I recommend The Legend of Zelda, Rayman, Warioware, and Dragonball Z. Dragonball Z will be the hardest to learn, but it is rewarding when you do.

anyone know of where there is one in stock at?
