New Games for New Year

Gamers are in for a lot of new videogames in 2007. Those looking forward to "Halo 3" on Xbox 360 can now see new footage of the game courtest of developer Bungie. Although no release date has been announced, you can bet the game will be out by Thanksgiving of 07.

Sega is bringing its "Virtual Fighter 5" to PlayStation 3 on February 20. But the game is also now heading to Xbox 360 this summer, so both next gen systems will get the newest take on the classic brawler.
Ubisoft is bringing its best-selling "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent" to PlayStation 3 in 07. The game's already been released on every other platform. Ubisoft previously announced that the next "Splinter Cell" game will be an Xbox 360 exclusive.

Speaking of Xbox 360, maybe it was the $4 price, but Burger King sold over 2 million Xbox 360 games in its first month. The three games star the creepy mascot of the fast food chain.
And although gamers have had PSP titles to play with, a new "Grand Theft Auto" game is heading to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 07. The game will likely ship in late October, which is the traditional time Rockstar releases new "GTA" games. This will be the first next gen venture for the best-selling franchise.

And not to leave Wii fans out, Nintendo is now offering a free version of its Opera Web search feature for download. In addition, the Wii Weather Channel is not running, which provides weather forecasts for the entire world. Nintendo's Virtual Console now has some new games for download, includng the original NES "Super Mario Bros.," the Super Nintendo "Street Fighter II: The World Warrior," Konami's "Super Castlevania IV," Sega Genesis' "ToeJam * Earl" and the TurboGrafx-16's "R-Type."
