Electronic Arts has partnered with Hilary Duff for "The Sims 2 Pets" videogame. Duff and her Chihuahua Lola are featured in the PlayStation 2, GameCube and PC games, which ship October 17. Rod Humble, executive producer for The Sims Division of EA said that Duff was involved in creating her character and her dogs, as well as deciding which tricks Lola could perform in the new game.

“I’ve logged hundreds of hours playing The Sims games, so I jumped at the chance to be in 'The Sims 2 Pets,'” said Duff. “I love creating Sims characters and guiding them through life, designing their houses and then blinging them out with cool furniture. Now, in The Sims 2 Pets, EA has combined two things I really enjoy—pets and The Sims!”

"The Sims" is the most popular videogame franchise of all time with over 70 million units sold worldwide. Over half of these players are female. The new game focuses on Sims' pets like cats and dogs. Players, who already bond with their Sims, will now be able to interact and grow with these pets.

"The Sims 2 Pets" will allow players to create and control characters throughout their life while determining the outcome of their relationships and adventures. Players will be able to choose from a variety of existing cat and dog breeds and the hottest designer mixes. They’ll also be able to personally design their new friend with the Create-a-Pet feature. The ability to customize gives fans the opportunity to create their ideal pet by choosing their body shape, unique markings, and even their pet’s personality.
