Enfield police searching for convenience store robbers

Officers established a perimeter and used a police dog to try to track the robbers, but they were unable to locate them.

ENFIELD, N.C. — Enfield police were investigating an armed robbery that happened early Thursday at a convenience store.

Officers were sent to the M&C Mart at 129 S. McDaniel St., where a clerk told them that two black men wearing masks had entered the store about 1:40 a.m. One robber displayed a gun and demanded money before both fled. They were last seen running behind the store.

Officers established a perimeter and used a police dog to try to track the robbers, but they were unable to locate them.

One of the men was about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds.
