Enfield man accused of stealing scrap metal

Authorities said a Halifax resident spotted an unidentified vehicle outside a neighbor's house on N.C. Highway 125 on Oct. 3and saw a man taking scrap metal from two sheds.

HALIFAX, N.C. — Halifax County authorities have charged a man accused of stealing scrap metal from two local sheds.

Reginald Lee Blocker, of Enfield, was charged with felony breaking and entering and two counts of felony larceny, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

Blocker was given a $20,000 bond, and his court date is scheduled for Nov. 24.

Authorities said a Halifax resident spotted an unidentified vehicle outside a neighbor’s house on N.C. Highway 125 on Oct. 3and saw a man taking scrap metal from two sheds.

The resident stopped the vehicle and made the suspect give back the items, the sheriff’s office said. The resident then copied down the suspect’s license plate number and notified law enforcement.
