Emu farming, seed saving on the agenda at Common Ground

— The 40th installment of Maine's rural and sustainable living festival is getting started in Unity.

The Common Ground Country Fair starts on Friday and continues through the weekend. The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association hosts the event.

The festival is centered around talks, demonstrations and exhibits about environmentally sustainable living. Friday's events include presentations about seed saving for gardeners, the state's upcoming marijuana legalization referendum and emu farming.

MOFGA expects about 60,000 people to participate in the three day festival.
