Elon grad hits stage in Cinderella at DPAC
Caity Skalski has sat in the audience at Durham Performing Arts Center many times, but next week will mark her first time taking the stage.

The classic tale gets a modern twist in this Tony award-winning production, which features some of Rodgers and Hammerstein's most beloved songs, including "In My Own Little Corner" and "Ten Minutes Ago." The show has some contemporary surprises in store.
"Something that I love is hearing the audience reactions," Skalski said, noting that there are often gasps, especially in the second act.
The story is rooted in female empowerment and following your dreams, something Skalski can relate to. The Pittsburgh resident said she traveled to North Carolina to attend Elon and follow her dream of going into musical theatre. She graduated in 2015.
Skalski has watched many of her fellow Elon grads on stage at DPAC performing in touring productions of Lion King and Annie. She hopes her North Carolina friends will be able to check out her role.
