— Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives charged a Bladen County 19-year-old with engaging in sex acts with children.

Authorities arrested Joshua Clark, of 165 Upton Place in Elizabethtown, and charged him with one count of statutory rape, two counts of sex offense and one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor.

Investigators say Clark took two girls, ages 7 and 13, to his home and allegedly forced them to perform sex acts with him.

The incidents allegedly occurred between March 1 - July 1, 2008, as well as Nov. 1 - Dec. 31, 2008.

Clark was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond. He will make a first court appearance Wednesday afternoon in the Detention Center Courtroom.

    BarefootButcher - My thoughts exactly.

NCStatePack - It's called self defense. She simply got her shot off first. And I bet you don't complain about what food is set in front of you anytime soon!

Personally, I don't understand how the police get these guys. As a parent, if I knew about it first, they'd only get what was left after I got done. That's called a corpse.

And they let him out with $75,000 bond?

The bond for allegedly hurting children should never be less than $1M. PERIOD!!!

    God bless.

If he did what is alleged, he should also be charged with kidnapping too.

Of course I do, and every American does as well. We all have an interest in protecting constitutional rights.

"... Do you have a personal interest here? Why so defensive?"

    Do you?

  • girlwonders Aug 19, 2009

Wow, I am a troll because I post the constitutional rights of every american citizen to a trial before Jury? That's a reach don't ya think? I simply stated that we don't know the facts and judgement without facts is simply wrong. WRAL has a history of not getting the facts straight with the reporting. That's why I check more than one news source for my news. I didn't say I had a problem with the reporting, just that they don't always get all the facts straight. Do you have a personal interest here? Why so defensive?

Do you know that he did this? Were you there? I can't judge without knowing the facts, and let's face it, WRAL doesn't always get the facts. I would have to know for sure before I decided to put someone away for the rest of their life.-girlwonders

I really dont understand some folks. If you dont like or have a problem with the reporting of this broadcast company then why bother to add your 2 cent? they must have some kind of evidence to have that many charges against him. Can we say troll?
