Eleven charged with DWI at checkpoint

Law enforcement officers cited 11 motorists for driving while impaired at a checkpoint at Falls of Neuse and Durant Road in Raleigh Saturday night.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Law enforcement officers cited 11 motorists for driving while impaired at a checkpoint at Falls of Neuse and Durant Road in Raleigh Saturday night.

The 11 people charged with DWI included one who was underage, said Phyllis Stephens, a spokeswoman for the Wake County Sheriff's Office.

Agents issued 36 other citations, including 11 for driving with out a license and four for driving with a revoked license, Stephens said. One person was arrested on felony drug charges.

The checkpoint was conducted by the sheriff's office and the Wake County Traffic Safety Force.
