Electrical part supplier expanding in Goldsboro
Balfour Beatty Rail's Traction Power Group, which has 50 employees in Goldsboro, will add another 29 jobs in the next three years.
Posted — UpdatedBalfour Beatty Rail’s Traction Power Group, which currently employs 50 people in Goldsboro, makes electrical parts for the public transit industry. The company will invest more than $1 million during the expansion.
“The current expansion is necessary as Balfour Beatty Rail anticipates a growing demand for mass transit construction opportunities around the U.S., including systems such as the Charlotte Light Rail System and the recently awarded Charlotte Street Car System,” said Joe Reed, vice president of Transit for Balfour Beatty Rail.
He said the company will need project engineers, project managers, manufacturing personnel and others.
The average salary for the new positions will be $43,000. The average annual wage in Wayne County is $31,512.
