Electric car charging stations in downtown Baton Rouge
Posted October 18
BATON ROUGE, La. — Downtown Baton Rouge now has 10 electric car charging stations as part of another push to make the city more progressive and to lure green businesses to the Capital City.
The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/2emMfqP) Mayor-President Kip Holden announced the installation of the charging stations Monday. Drivers who want to use the stations will have to pay regular parking meter fees, but can then charge their cars for up to four hours.
Holden calls it "Red Stick is going green."
Entergy has been the lead sponsor of the downtown stations, giving a $75,000 grant for the purchase and installation of the program also being pushed by the Baton Rouge Area Foundation.
