Orange County, N.C. — Eight people were taken to local hospitals Saturday night after a two-car head-on collision in Orange County, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said.
The wreck happened around 7 p.m. on Lebanon Road in Mebane when, authorities say, a vehicle crossed the center line and hit a van carrying seven people.
Seven of those injured were taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill and the other person was taken to Duke University Hospital in Durham.
Two of the injured were airlifted to UNC with serious injuries, authorities said. Their conditions were not available Sunday night.
The other six had injuries that were not life-threatening.
Patrick Spear, of Efland, will be charged with crossing the center line, authorities said.
