GARNER, N.C. — A three-car pile-up on U.S. Highway 70 in Garner Sunday afternoon sent eight people to a local hospital and caused traffic delays for about an hour.

Garner police say the vehicles, including one hauling a boat, were involved in the chain-reaction crash near Timber Drive after one of the cars caught fire.

A Garner police officer who saw the wreck was able to put out the fire right away.

Police said the injuries were minor and that everyone involved was expected to be OK.
