Eight arrested in Edgecombe County cocaine bust
EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — Eight people were arrested Thursday in Edgecombe County following the seizure of cash and more than a kilo of cocaine.

The first arrests occurred during a Thursday meeting among suspects, where a kilo of cocaine was being sold. A take down and several simultaneous traffic stops resulted in the seizure of a kilo of cocaine, money, and a handgun.

Edgecombe County sheriff’s investigators then performed surveillance on several homes belonging to suspects in the group. They found a vehicle containing a large amount of money in a hidden compartment. A traffic stop was performed and the driver, Adan Espino of Alto, Texas, was found to have $150,000 in cash in the glove compartment of the car, deputies said. Investigators also found another $140,000 in a hidden compartment near the rear fender.

Searches of three additional residences resulted in the seizure of $17,000 in cash, a money counting machine, a handgun and 84 grams of cocaine.

The suspects include:

Guillermo Monge Espinose, 44, of 27 Booth Lane in Tarboro, charged with three counts of trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

Jorge Espinose, 22, of 27 Booth Lane in Tarboro, charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine

Rosa Maria Hernandez, 50, of 2239 Deer Run in Rocky Mount, charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine

Gloria Lizabeth Solano, 21, of 319 Azalea Avenue in Hidalgo, Texas, charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine

Adan Espino II, 25, of 250 West Mahala Avenue, Texas, charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine

Derrick Jermaine Pittman, 32, of 201 Conyers Avenue in Battleboro, charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine

Ramiro Calixtro, 44, of 2513 Sarah Lane in Rocky Mount, charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine

Alexis Calixtro-Casas, 21, 2513 Sarah Lane in Rocky Mount, charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine
