<b>CONETOE, N.C.</b> — Edgecombe County Sheriff deputies arrested a man wanted on both local and federal charges Saturday.

Deputies were tipped that Christopher Deon Powell, 38, a suspect in an area break-in, was at a Conetoe residence and they took him into custody just before 11 a.m.

On Friday, authorities put out the alert, asking the public for assistance after learning that Powell was also wanted by U.S. Marshals on charges connected to a probation violation, Sheriff James Knight said. He did not provide specifics of those charges.
