Eastover man accused of sex crimes against girl, fathering her child

Posted June 17, 2010

— Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives arrested an Eastover man on Wednesday and charged him with sex crimes involving a 14-year-old girl and with fathering her child.

Warren Edwards, 39, of 3104 Aglow Drive, told investigators the child could be his, but he was not sure because he was intoxicated at the time and did not remember having sexual relations with the girl, according to sheriff's officials.

He is charged with taking indecent liberties with a child and statutory sex offense, both felonies.

Edwards was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to make a first court appearance at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Detention Center courtroom.

weasel2, our justice system says that this man should be incarcerated and not killed. You are advocating vigilante retribution, against the U.S. justice system, and in the form of death. That, sir, is UN-American. You're supposed to try to change the law if you don't like it, not commit or condone homocidal violence. That's America. (Other countries, like Iran, Singapore or Saudi Arabia may agree with you, though.)

And your eye-for-an-eye mantra is archaic & just barbaric. We, well most of us, have mentally evolved since those nomadic goat herder days.

Just a thought.... the girl's mother could have known, consented to it and gotten something in return for herself. Something to think about....

If only all prisons operated as manufacturing facilities where all prisoners were forced to work to pay for their upkeep and any retribution to victims/state. It this were the case, this man should be sentenced to at least 40 years behind bars to pay for child support for both the 14 year old and the child. Just punishment.

I don't even think this happens in West Virginia anymore. Pretty disgusting but at least he is keeping it in the family.
