Glen Isaac Darden, 59, of the 2500 block of HB Lewis Road in Clinton, has been charged with indecent liberties with a student. Deputies said the student talked to a school resource officer a day after the alleged incident, which prompted an investigation.
Darden was arrested Dec. 13 and held on a $1,000 secured bond.
Ken Derksen, a spokesman with Wayne County Public Schools, said Darden was placed on unpaid administrative leave the day of his arrest. His status was changed to unpaid on Wednesday.
Derksen said Darden was hired by the school system in March 2003 and has coached basketball at the school since then. He is also an instructional assistant. Derksen could not provide more information about Darden’s leave because of personnel laws.
