Eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 were closed in Chapel Hill at U.S. Highway 15/501 during the 4 o'clock hour Friday afternoon.
Posted — UpdatedCHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 were closed in Chapel Hill at U.S. Highway 15/501 during the 4 o'clock hour Friday afternoon.
By 5 p.m., the left lanes were getting by, but delays remained.
Law enforcement officers directed traffic off I-40 East to I-85 North, then to the Durham Freeway (N.C. Highway 147) to rejoin I-40.
