Meredith, that's great that your Mom was able to get some! Maybe she'll share with you?! I have mixed emotions about not getting there myself today.

I did not trek out to EF today, however my mom lives right by there so I sent her ;-) She eats shrimp a couple times every week so I'm lad she could get the deal even if I couldn't. She said the store still had plenty left. They were 2lb bags and she got 4 bags. She is quite excited and I'm excited for her.

It is too bad there isn't an Earth Fare closer. It was just too far to spend a couple of hours in the car again today. I feel like all I did this week was drive all over the Triangle.

Meredith, if you do get there, it really is great shrimp! The stuff that is sold B2G3 at HT is farmed and usually from Thailand or Indonesia or someplace. Based on what I've read about it, that is not something I would even consider eating. My one exception for imported shrimp is from Argentina. It is wild caught, and very good.

Let us know if you got any today from E.F. and what you thought. :)

meredith88 - that's a very good idea. At that price, they may have sold out by lunch. Especially since the e-mail I received does not indicate that there is a limit.

Thanks Faye! That is helpful! I will have to try and make it over there tonight! Maybe I'll call first. My email says "while supplies last" and I'd hate to drive all the way over there to find out they sold out hours earlier.

meredith88 - it is a better price than I have seen in a long time. Especially because it is already peeled, deveined and tail removed. And it's Florida shrimp. The HT b2G3F price it is more expensive and they are not peeled at all. If I was closer, I would be buying many pounds of this $5/lb offer and freezing them. Hope that helps. :-)

Just curious, how does this price compare to other stores? For instance, when HT has them B2G3? Trying to decide if it's worth it for me to drive 20 minutes to get these?

jdouglas13 - it really is too bad that there is not another location closer to South Raleigh/Cary. I would definitely be getting that shrimp deal if it wasn't a 50 minute drive.

That's a fabulous deal for really good shrimp at a stock up price. P/D too! Very tempting. :)
