Durham woman is reunited with missing wedding dress

Posted March 24

— The Durham woman, whose husband accidentally donated her wedding dress, now has it back.

Natalie Gelbert said her husband didn't realize it was in the back of the car and mixed it in with other bags of clothes they were giving away. He donated it to the Goodwill Community Foundation Donation Store on Roxboro Road in Durham.

GCF found the wedding dress in the building, and it was never sold to a customer.

Store employees were mistaken in telling Gelbert someone purchased it for $20.

GCF said its policy is to return any items donated by mistake.
