jr1brown you don't have to go anywhere you don't want to go, if you don't feel safe stay at home, maybe you don't feel safe there either. If you don't want to be in Durham we don't want you.

Anytime Durham is mentioned people jump all over the story with negative comments. I guess this makes them forget their cities are no better. Some cities just do a better job of keeping their crime out of the media. The Durham paper has a police log. Does Raleigh or Cary ? No they don’t. But if they think they live in paradise let them stay and live in their world of make believe.

    +1 ncwesty1.
Unbelievable how everyone jumps the gun on Durham. And where did it say it WON'T be monitored, or paid entrance??? Haters need not visit, we don't want you there anyways.

Considering it will be built across the street from a police station I think everyone will be safe. GO DURHAM!!!! If you believe all the negatives about our lovely city please keep on believing them and stay away, we really don't want or need you here.

Skateboarders, start carrying Mace with you!You are going to need it as the thugs move in on you, thinking you have money.

This is terrific news; skateboard parks give these kids a safe place to skate, and it keeps them out of shopping center parking lots getting in trouble. Maybe they'll use Tony Hawk's company, like SK8Cary did. Great news, Durham!

This sounds great! I just hope the Durham PD is prepared to monitor this park closely because if not, it will become dangerous for the kids who really want to skateboard there because of it's location. It's a shame you ahve to think about it like that, but it's a fact.
