Durham teen will be tried as adult for murder

A 15-year-old will stand trial as an adult for the murder and robbery of a Durham man Sept. 4.

DURHAM, N.C. — A 15-year-old will stand trial as an adult for the murder and robbery of a Durham man Sept. 4.

Steven Mack is one of four people charged in the death of Bernardo Ponce, 33, of Chapel Hill Road. Ponce was found shot near his home. A second victim, Antoney Garcia Dominguez, 40, of Durham, survived the shooting and was taken to Duke University Hospital.

Mack was indicted Monday on charges of murder, robbery and assault. His alleged co-conspirators  – Deandre Roosevelt Rucker, of Nebo Street, Sherwin Bilal Archie, of Fargo Street, and Darrius Lavale Tyson, of Chapel Hill Road, are all 18.
