Durham science museum offers fort building fun

I suspect plenty of kids were honing their indoor fort building schools during the many snow days last month. Now, they can take those skills to a bigger stage this weekend - the Museum of Life and Science.

'Build it Forts' event at Museum of Life & Science
I suspect plenty of kids were honing their indoor fort building skills during the many snow days last month. Now, they can take those skills to a bigger stage this weekend - the Museum of Life and Science.

Build it! Forts runs through Sunday at the Durham museum. Museum staff have put out everyday materials so kids can build tunnels, tents and hiding places. Kids are encouraged to design, work together and build their own spaces.

Judging from the pictures in our image gallery, it looks like a lot of fun!

Build it! Forts is free with admission to the Durham museum, which is $14.50 for adults; $10 for kids ages 3 to 12; and free for members.
