Durham road to close for bridge repair

The closure, scheduled to begin Wednesday at 7 a.m., will affect a section of Pickett Road between Randolph and Garrett roads.

DURHAM, N.C. — Pickett Road in Durham just off U.S. Highway 15-501 southwest of Durham will be closed for four months while the North Carolina Department of Transportation works to repair the bridge over Mud Creek.

The closure, scheduled to begin Wednesday at 7 a.m., will affect a section of Pickett Road between Randolph and Garrett roads (labeled in blue on map below).

Work is expected to be completed by Nov. 21, 2008.

Residents of the effected area will be allowed to travel Pickett Road. All others will be directed on a detour (in orange) using Randolph Road, Erwin Road, Cornwallis Road and Western Bypass Road.
