Downed power lines close Durham road
DURHAM, N.C. — Power crews were working on Garrett Road on Thursday morning to repair electrical lines pulled down by a school bus, city officials said.

Garrett Road at Old Chapel Hill Road was closed for several hours while the repairs were being made.

A downed tree limb had caused power lines to sag early Thursday. When a school bus drove by, one of its mirrors caught the lines and pulled down a power pole, police said. The power lines also scraped the top of a Durham Area Transit Authority bus that was passing.

No injuries were reported. The children on the bus that snagged the wire were transported to school on another bus. There were no passengers on the DATA bus, officials said.
