Latta Road in Durham was closed Friday afternoon while authorities investigated the death of an unidentified person.

<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — Latta Road in Durham was closed for several hours Friday while authorities investigated the death of a woman found lying under the bridge.

Durham police said the investigation began shortly after 11 a.m.

Police said the body had been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. They did not release the woman's name, pending notification of her family.
