Durham, N.C. — Durham school board members approved a $415.4 million budget for the 2015-16 school year Monday night.
The budget includes a request for $7.8 million more from the county to cover growth, incentives for teachers, and to avoid job cuts. It would also give pay raises to non-classroom employees, including custodians, bus drivers and cafeteria workers.
Durham County commissioners will hold a budget meeting on June 8 to discuss the district's budget.
