Durham police turn to public for help in June shooting

Police on Monday asked for the public's help in finding Miguel Angel Barrientos, 34, of Jubilee Lane, whom they want in a shooting at a restaurant June 1.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police on Monday asked for the public's help in finding Miguel Angel Barrientos, 34, of Jubilee Lane, whom they want in a shooting at a restaurant.

Barrientos is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault by pointing a gun and discharging a firearm within the city limits.

Police said he shot a 28-year-old man at the Plaza Garibaldi restaurant on Foushee Street after the man asked him to stop bothering a female restaurant employee. The man was hit several times in the torso but survived.
