— A 12-year-old girl told police that a man tried to kidnap her at a Dollar Tree store at 1517 Glenn School Road in Durham on July 11.

The girl said that the man approached her and spoke to her in Spanish, and when she ignored him, he grabbed her by the wrist, police said. The girl pulled away, injuring her wrist, and ran away.

On Thursday, police released photos from surveillance cameras of the man, who they described as Hispanic, between 25 and 40 years old. He has a medium build, a thin mustache and short, black and gray hair. He was wearing a dark blue hat with sunglasses on top of it, a blue T-shirt with "Duke" on the front and back, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about his identity or the incident is asked to call police at 919-560-4281, ext. 29121, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that solve crimes.

Bless her heart! She must have been terrified! This sounds similar to the story in PA where a 10 year old girl was walking with her 2 year old brother. She was grabbed by a hispanic man and got away. They are looking for that guy as well.

"was this girl by herself or were her parents in the store with her??"

    WHY does that matter?

From these photos we can only tell that it's a black male. Not much to go on.
