— Durham police plan to go door-to-door in the neighborhood where a woman was shot Saturday, seeking tips that could lead them to an arrest.

Police say Jessica Ellis, 28, of 414 Newsom Street, died near her home Saturday evening. She had multiple gunshot wounds.

Joseph Demetrius Muller, 40, is wanted for the crime. Police warn that Muller is considered armed and dangerous.

The Project Safe Neighborhoods Task Force – made up of police and civilians – will provide information about the crime, talk with residents and hand out fliers. Volunteers are welcome and will be briefed on procedures to follow.

Anyone with information about Muller's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
